Warner Bros announces red2blu trade-in program for HD DVD to Blu-Ray discs

Early adopters of the HD DVD format now have a way to save some face, or at least salvage some of the money invested in HD DVD movies. Warner Bros. has announced a new trade-in program which allows you to ship in the original cover art of your HD DVD movies and receive new Blu-Ray discs of the same movie shipped to your door.
While the trade-in program isn't free, it is much less expensive than buying new Blu-Ray discs to start your Blu-Ray collection. For $4.95 per disc, plus the cost of shipping and handling, consumers can trade up virtually any of their Warner Bros. HD DVD titles (up to 25) for the same title on Blu-ray. Warner even picks up the shipping cost for sending in the labels by providing a free shipping label to you once your order is placed.
The best part about the program? You get to keep the original HD DVD discs.
The worst part about the program? It is currently only available to residents in the United States.
Full details on the program can be found at www.red2blu.com.
