Fresh off of the success of the Ninja II notebook cooler, VIZO decided that smaller sized notebooks need good coolin' too. The Mini Ninja notebook cooler is designed after the Ninja II notebook cooler, except it is smaller for use with small notebooks. The device works by drawing power from the USB port of the notebook to support two 70mm fans spinning at 2000 RPM. The notebook computer sits on top of the Mini Ninja and is angled to ease strain on the wrists while typing – all while keeping the notebook safe from overheating.

Using the Mini Ninja
The Mini Ninja is a piece of cake to use and very quiet. The notebook computer I used it with never had a heat problem, but I did notice the case was cooler while using the Mini Ninja. The ergonomic design makes it easier to type for long periods of time and that alone is a big benefit to anyone with wrist problems or carpal tunnel syndrome.
The small size and weight make great to carry with me and as with the Ninja II, I noticed a significant power drain from using the device while the notebook was running on batteries. If you normally get 3 hours on batteries, you will get about 2 hours and forty minutes using the Mini Ninja but that is no big deal if you really need to keep your laptop cool.

Benefits of the Mini Ninja
After using a variety of notebook coolers, I can point out some benefits of this smaller unit. First of all, it weighs less and is smaller so transporting it is much easier and takes less space in a carrying case. The Ninja II is a little too big to carry around but the Mini Ninja is just the right size to pack in your laptop case.
Second, the Mini Ninja is easier to use in small spaces. Unlike the Ninja II, the Mini Ninja does not take up much space so you can work in confined spaces better. This is great for students who share dorm rooms or anywhere there is not much space to set up your computer. Even if you have a 15.4” widescreen notebook, the Mini Ninja will fit comfortably.
Last of all, the Mini Ninja is just as quiet as its big brother, combine that with its size and it is ideal for libraries and study halls. As with the Ninja II, you can’t even hear the fans working. I had to literally check to make sure they were. Even so, the fans still pump out 13.72 CFM each just like the larger Ninja II.
VIZO Mini Ninja Notebook Cooler
The Mini Ninja is an excellent little notebook cooler and does its job quietly. Unlike the larger Ninja II, this cooler is much easier to transport and is more geared toward use on the go. If you have a 7 to 15.4” notebook and need to keep it cool, the Mini Ninja is definitely worth considering.
Pros: Easily portable, ergonomic design, extremely quiet and efficient cooling.
Cons: Drains laptop battery.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5
