Computer games today require a fairly powerful computer with a good graphics card and a decent sized hard drive to install the larger games we have available now. A really good gaming mouse can help with accuracy and speed in first person shooters and many other games as well. One thing many people overlook is the mouse pad. A good mouse pad is justas important as a good mouse for accuracy and speed, and today we're looking at the Puretrak Deluxe to see how it fairs in some of today's FPS games.
Design
The Puretrak Deluxe is a large sized mouse pad measuring 13.5" x 10.5" with a slick plastic coated surface and is available in 1/8 and 1/16" thickness. The one we are taking a look at is the 1/8" mouse pad. The back is made of textured rubber and firmly grips the desktop so the mouse pad doesn't move when playing fast action games. Unlike some coated mouse pads, the Puretrak Deluxe lays perfectly flat and does not curl up at the edges.

Performance
Using the mouse pad for gaming we find the movement and tracking of the mouse to be extremely smooth and accurate. In our testing the mouse pad worked well with laser, infra-red and ball mice. The mouse pad is large enough that you don't run off the edges but small enough that it doesn't hog up all your open desk space. You can even put a wrist rest on the mouse pad and still have enough room to work and play comfortably.
The Deluxe is not as soft as some other thicker mouse pads, such as thick cloth mousepads, but with the plastic surface it has much smoother and faster-feeling surface. It is plenty smooth for our testing with FPS games and allowed mouse movements as fast as could possibly be needed for FPS gaming.

No need for a long summary here --- the Puretrak Deluxe mouse pad is a great choice for gamers who want speed and accuracy. It's easy to clean and with the coating, liquid spills wipe right off. The size is just right and for the $15 USD price it's a no-brainer.
Pros: Perfect size, smooth tracking, easy to clean and water resistant.
Cons: Not as soft as other mouse pads.
