Having a great gaming mouse is capital to any good gamer, but having a great mouse pad for that mouse makes it that much better. The Mionix Alitoh 400 is a newly designed mouse pad geared toward getting the best performance out of your gaming mouse. How well does it work? Let's take a look.
Design
The Alioth 400 is named after the brightest star in the constellation Ursa Major. The mouse pad comes rolled in an easy to open plastic container. Once removed it unrolls to a remarkable 400mm X 335mm. The mouse pad is 3mm thick and weighs 222gr. It has a rubber based back that grips to most all surfaces and is compatible with optical and laser mice. The surface material is made of a durable and flexible coated cloth.

Performance
Using the Alioth 400 in combination with the Saiph 3200 gaming mouse gave a truly enhanced gaming experience. The mouse seems to glide across the surface of the mouse pad as if it isn't even touching it at all. This enabled fast movement with extreme accuracy is first person shooters. We also used the mouse pad with an older Logitech gaming mouse which uses infrared technology and the results were also very favorable. So, even if you do not use a laser mouse you can benefit from this mouse pad.
During the usage of the mouse pad it stayed firmly in place, and the rubber backing does the job with sticking to your desk. It doesn't "walk" on you when you're intensely playing games.
The only issue you may run into is having enough room for it to fit on your desk. It is an enormous mouse pad and takes up quite a bit of space, which is excellent for gamers but not so great if you have a tiny desk.

Mionix Alioth 400 Mousepad
The Alioth 400 is one of the best mouse pads you can use for gaming and compared to a standard mouse pad, it's a no brainer. The mouse pad enhances gaming with a very smooth surface that allows fluid movement of the mouse. It almost feels like it's gliding on air. All that and it has a 2 year warranty.
Pros: Excellent gaming experience, smooth surface, compatible with laser and infrared technology.
Cons: Somewhat pricey, very large size may not fit all desks.
