Hi-def version of Digital Video Essentials gets reviewed

Scott Wilkinson, the editor over at UltimateAVMag.com, has taken a close look at the DIY calibration disc, Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics, and gives a great review of the HD DVD and Blu-Ray versions of the disc. Anyone who has ever considered doing their own calibration of their new LCD or plasma display has no doubt heard of the DVE disc. The previous version of Digital Video Essentials disc has been the standard in the industry for a number of years.
The most interesting point I took away from the review is that the HD DVD version was seen as superior to the Blu-Ray version by the reviewer. Not much of a consolation prize for the HD DVD folks, who are still smarting from the Blu-Ray format taking the hi-def format crown, but still interesting to note nonetheless.
Before you decide whether to spend your money on either the new HD DVD or Blu-Ray version of this calibration disc, head over to UltimateAVMag.com to read the entire Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics review.
