HDTV calibration database now available online

CNET has done their best to take the guess work out of calibrating your new HDTV by starting an HDTV picture settings database. The database is essentially a collection of the optimal picture settings that the editors found during their reviews of plasma, LCD and rear-projection HDTVs.

You may have a bit of trouble finding your model, however, since the database does not cover all of the available models out on the market. Fortunately it does include models from nearly all of the major HDTV manufacturers.

It's important to note that the settings provided by the editors were found during "dark room" testing, so the lighting conditions in your home will definitely have an impact on what the optimal settings should be. But this database gives you a very nice starting point for calibrating your HDTV for movie watching.
