The Creative HS-1200 is another headset without surround sound, but like the Razer, makes up for it in other areas. The first thing you notice is that they are much smaller and sleeker than the other offerings. They are also wireless, connecting to a USB dongle which plugs into your PC. As you would expect from Creative, the sound reproduction is excellent. If you have a Creative soundcard then there are many toys in the package to get your audio juices flowing such as the XFi Crystalizer and some neat options which ‘simulate’ a 3D environment.
Coming in at an average online price of $100 USD, the HS-1200 is right in the middle of the typical price range for gaming headsets.
Overall these are the headphones for those who like style and the freedom of wireless, and who won’t miss the extra dimensions of 5.1.
