All of this sounds great, but how much cash are we talking here? I’ve outlined the typical price range you must be willing to pay in order to take a new HDTV home with you:

32” LCD - $900 to $1,500
36” LCD - $1,300 to $2,000
40” LCD - $2,000+

37” Plasma - $1,400 to $2,500
42” Plasma - $2,000 to $3,000
50” Plasma - $2,500 to $4,000
55” or bigger Plasma - $5,000+
